They seem to be okay, unfortunately the cover is to small for the boat so the poles aren't necessary

Was a problem getting it to unlock and had to get a pair of pliers and gently loosen it.

The caps were smaller than I imagined. I guess we will see how the cover holds up with such a small surface area of pressure on the post. With covers designed for these posts, it would have been nice to have some reinforced pockets sewn into the cover where the post cap could be seated. That would also make setting the cover up a little easier too, as the poles would not fall over.
